Christ's Community has been serving the people of College Hill for over thirty years.
The idea for Christ’s Community originated during the difficult days of the late 1960’s. Church and community leaders were looking for ways to deal with the problems brought about by the rapid changes within the community, particularly those related to race. The changing racial mix of the community posed many challenges, not unique to College Hill. While not experiencing a great deal of poverty, College Hill had and still has its share of single parent households, families on public assistance and unemployment, particularly among the African American youth.
Christ's Community continues to plan and implement strategic services to address the social and cultural problems of College Hill. In all our efforts we still strive to demonstrate the love of Jesus for all.
Over our thirty-plus year history, we've been ably led by Rev. Willie Strayhorn, Rev. "Chappie" Chapman and Rev. Nathl Moore. Our previous Pastor-Administrator was Pastor William Hagans.
